If you’re reading this, you probably love to sew as much as I do. That, or you’re just getting acquainted with this wonderful world of fabric and thread. In both cases: Welcome!
It’s been quite a journey since I first bought my sewing machine a few years ago. I remember that it was hard for me to get started because I didn’t have many sewing shops or classes near me in the outer reaches of northern Virginia. That’s when I discovered sewing blogs, where sewists share tips, tutorials, reviews, sew-alongs, and even their own indie patterns! This opened up a whole new world for me, and I credit others’ blogs for a lot of the sewing knowledge and skills I have today.
I decided to start my own blog for a couple reasons. Number 1: to keep this sharing going. I want to offer reviews of patterns (or fabric, notions, tools, etc.) that I use in case they are helpful to anyone else thinking about trying them. I’ll also post any helpful tips or mistakes I made (so that you don’t make them yourself!).
Number 2: to keep a record of my own makes. It’s just nice to be able to click around and find all of my notes – with pictures! It is also great to be able to see my own progress over time.
The journey is not over yet – I have so much more to learn! Please join me as I piece together a handmade wardrobe! If you any questions about me or my posts, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
